Hey Stupid!

Let me start by saying I am STUPID!! Stupid, stupid stupid!  I walked to my Quit Clinic appointment in a pair of trainers that I have not worn in over 2 years.  On the way home I remembered why I have not worn said trainers for over 2 years…the little blisters that developed on both my little toes reminded me.  It wouldn’t be so bad if while putting these shoes on I hadn’t asked myself, Do you really want to wear shoes that you haven’t worn for so long, what if they hurt your feet?

Stupid is as stupid does – Forrest Gump

Yes it is...

The walk to the clinic was beautiful (my feet were not hurting yet).  The sun was out and there was a nice cool breeze (Damn it, I knew I should have run there like I said I would yesterday). Oh well…serves me right!

We arrived early and so I got seen by the nurse early, which is cool.  I told her how the last 9 days have been for me since I quit smoking and she took my Carbon Monoxide reading, last week it was 25, today it was….drum roll please…

Woo Hooooo!

Yup, I am pleased…actually it could have been zero but the nurse pointed out that her machine does not read any lower than one…I don’t care!  She is really pleased with how I have done, but not as pleased as I am with myself, that’s for sure!  Anyway, I have a prescription for more patches and inhalator cartridges and I have another appointment for next Tuesday.  I think next week she may change the patches and inhalator to a lower nicotine dose but we will see.

On the way home it was sunny for all of about 10 minutes…then it clouded over really quickly and before I even had a chance to say to Steve “Oh Steve, I think it’s going to rain”,  it p***ed it down!  The rain then turned to hail stones, oh joy! By the time we got home we were soaked!

Anyway, I am off I as I have a guest arrive…

  1. Hee hee – the old blisters on the little toes problem. I think it’s safe to say we’ve all “been there, done that”. Big congrats on the low ( big ? ) 1. Nice job. A little rain just wakes you up. You’re doing great so far! Keep it up.

  2. You are doing great! Now pointing out the obvious… If you had run, you probably would have worn other shoes and gotten home in time before rain and hail? 🙂 Food for thought…. hehe
