Swings & Sunshine…

Today I went ahead and tried out the plan I had of getting up early to run.  I didn’t get up as early as I wanted to as I didn’t get to bed until 3am but I was up before 7.  I gave myself a little while to wake up a bit while drinking a cup of coffee and myself and my step-daughter, Little Miss T went out at 8am to this…

Perfect to keep you cool

When we left the house it was a comfortable 13 degrees C, gorgeous :)

Last weeks run was a little tester to see how I would get on after so long away from training.  Today my goal was to try and complete the whole Week 1 Day 1 session of the Couch to 5K.  I wasn’t expecting too much of myself because I thought after 4 months out I would find it really tough, but I am pleased to report, it was great!  I didn’t find it at all tough and I could probably move on to Week 2 but in the interest of my safety I think it would be silly to do that while I am still recovering from the Vitamin D deficiency, so I am just going to start the programme from the beginning and work my way through at a normal pace.  I won’t have finished it by the time Billie’s 5K comes around but I know I will be much better prepared.

My run route is pretty

Little Miss T did an excellent job.  She kept up with me all the way through and seemed to enjoy it.  She is 12 going on 21 and should have loads more energy that me.

The route I run is so pretty so we got some great pics…

Hazy sunshine :)

Yeah, I couldn’t resist it :)

I must add that I had finished my run and was on my way home when I jumped on the swing.

All in all I am very happy with how today’s run went and I am very much looking forward to the next one.  I could get used to the morning running thing.

Jules :)
